The Vihti municipality's Entrepreneurs' Evenings made a comeback after the break caused by COVID-19. Finally, in autumn 2022, after two years of waiting, we were able to meet entrepreneurs face to face. The main purpose of the Entrepreneurs' Evenings is of course to enable entrepreneurs from Vihti to network, which got off to an excellent start even before the event started. The first entrepreneurs arrived about an hour before the starting time. The long period of social distancing caused quite a surge in registrations for this live event in the municipality and some even had to be redirected to the event via Teams due to lack of space.
Originally, the keynote speaker was to be Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintilä, but dealing with the energy crisis took Lintilä first to the Prime Minister's briefing to Parliament and then directly to the meeting of energy ministers in Brussels. In his stead, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Antti Kurvinen presented the big picture of Finland's economic situation at the event. Kurvinen's highlights of the policies and government measures to face and deal with the current crises raised many questions among the participants. Thanks to the discussion and the questions raised, Minister Kurvinen's visit, scheduled to last about half an hour, extended to almost an hour.
After the Minister's departure, Erkki Eerola, Mayor of Vihti, gave his update on what's new on the municipality's front, at which point also Vihti's Business and Economic Development's new brand and website vihtibusiness.fi were also presented. Director of Business and Economic development Petra Ståhl gave a planning overview, detailing the current situation of the new employment areas in Vihti municipality and plans to increase the municipality's supply to meet the growing demand for jobs.
The evening ended with a shared dinner where, judging by the chatter and laughter, the entrepreneurs from Vihti seemed to enjoy themselves.
The artistic experience of the evening was provided by Auri Emilia Komu, a skilled violinist. Auri's company, Musiikkipalvelu Melodioso & Melodioso Oy, is a recent addition to the Nummela music industry.
