A new and versatile business area with excellent transport connections offers many opportunities for a variety of business activities.

A newcomer will soon join the ranks of business areas designed to meet the diverse needs of the business world: Hiidenlaakso Business Park. Located in Nummela, Vihti's main town, the area will be seamlessly linked to the existing Kenttälä and Hiidenmäki business areas.

"The area is ideal for both industrial as well as logistics businesses," says Petra Ståhl, Director of Business and Economic development of Vihti municipality.

The local detailed plan plan for this employment area is currently being finalised and is on track for approval in early 2022. Ståhl describes the Hiidenlaakso employment area as a large, almost 70 hectares. The plots can be tailored to meet large-scale needs if necessary.

"The area will offer a wide range of location opportunities to meet the location needs of economic operators. The town plan also allows for office and commercial premises to be located in the area."

The nearest ports in the area are Vuosaari, Hanko, Turku and Naantali, and the Hanko-Hyvinkää railway line runs next to the area.

"Hiidenlaakso is also centrally located in that the new plans for the Helsinki-Turku rail link would place the railway to the south of it," says Ståhl.

Flexible plots for many purposes

The future Vihti prime employment area will meet a wide range of business needs in terms of land use designations. According to Ståhl, the strategic objectives have been set high.

"As a municipality, we must be able to respond immediately to any land-use needs for businesses. The plots in offer in the Hiidenlaakso business area are well suited to achieve this objective.

In the draft plan, the Hiidenlaakso employment area has been allocated a total of 13 blocks for various types of employment construction sites.

"These blocks contain plots suitable for commercial and office buildings, other business premises, industrial buildings and warehouses, depending on the plot.
