Vihti received an excellent ranking in the Finnish Entrepreneurs’ Municipal Barometer 2026 survey, published on May 20. The Municipal Barometer measures entrepreneurs’ views on municipal operations and the business-friendly environment. In the survey results, entrepreneurs rated Vihti as the very best municipality in the Western Uusimaa region and the third best among Uusimaa municipalities with over 10,000 residents. It is noteworthy that Vihti ranked ahead of major cities, as Helsinki, Espoo, and Vantaa all fell behind.

The Entrepreneurs’ Municipal Barometer survey, conducted every two years, assesses cooperation between municipalities and entrepreneurs as well as the state of economic policy at the national, regional, and municipal levels. In the survey, entrepreneurs evaluate the performance of their own municipality. Nearly 12,000 entrepreneurs across Finland responded to the survey conducted earlier this year, of whom 47 answered the questions regarding Vihti.

Vihti’s score was 3.34 out of 5, while the average score for all respondents was 3.15 out of 5. The Municipal Barometer is considered an important tool for developing economic policy, as it provides municipalities with direct feedback from entrepreneurs.

“We have been working long-term to create a business-friendly environment, and the results of the Municipal Barometer show that we are on the right track. At the same time, it serves as a reminder of how crucial close cooperation with entrepreneurs is for the municipality’s vitality and growth,” says Mika Herpiö, Director of Vitality for the Municipality of Vihti. – The results provide us with valuable feedback and serve as a solid foundation for both strengthening dialogue and future development efforts.

The results reflect our dedicated development efforts

Vihti’s strong business-friendly environment is reflected in its results: the municipality outperforms the national average in all key areas.

Entrepreneurs feel that businesses are taken into account in Vihti right from the preparatory stage of decision-making, and that the decision-making process is transparent and business-oriented. The municipality’s communication and interaction with entrepreneurs are also rated as above average.

Vihti also receives positive feedback in the results for actively involving businesses in procurement and development, as well as for recognizing the importance of economic policy as part of the municipality’s operations.

Entrepreneurs feel that the municipal leadership values entrepreneurship, and that the services provided to businesses support their operations. Vihti’s appeal as a business location is rated above average, and overall, the results reflect a high level of confidence in the municipality.

“Business satisfaction in the municipality of Vihti has now risen in three consecutive surveys. This reflects the improvement in business services and the strong cooperation with the municipality,” says Jaakko Kuula, chairman of the Vihti Entrepreneurs Association.
